Announce the following prior to calling the NET:
The weekly Wednesday Polk County "ESF-2 Communications Net" is about to begin.
Does anyone have any emergency traffic or need to use the repeater before we call the NET tonight?
This is ESF-2 Communications NET Control – [Say your call letters]. The net will begin in 2 minutes.

This is [Say your call letters] NET Control, for the Polk County Florida "ESF-2 Communications Net".
The Polk County ARES Net meets every Wednesday at 1930 hours Eastern Time for the purpose of disseminating information and training. This net can also act as part of the national traffic system and can handle traffic into, out of, and throughout the greater Polk County area. Written traffic will be accepted latter in the net.
Information about the ESF-2 Communications Net can be found on the Polk County EmComm web site located at www dot Polk EmComm dot org, that’s spelled www dot p-o-l-k-e-m-c-o-m-m dot org.
Our monthly meetings are on the last Thursday of each month. Meeting information and locations can be found on the web site.
You are listening to the WC4PEM Repeater, VHF frequency 146.985 MHz, with a negative off-set or on UHF the frequency of 444.95 with positive off-set. Both repeaters require a PL Tone of 127.3.hz.
The transmitters are located in Bartow, Florida and serve the entire Polk County area. Our thanks to Richard, KQ4KX - WC4PEM trustee, for the use of these repeaters.
This is a directed net organized for the purpose of coordinating the Amateur Radio Emergency Service activity in Polk County. All stations that are not involved in the net are requested to standby until the net is clear. Any station with emergency traffic may interrupt at any time.

Net Control will take check-ins of ARES officers first. After completing the officer’s check-ins, Net Control will take check-ins of any Polk County amateurs.
After check-ins I will call on net members to pass their traffic in the order received,
Finally, any other radio operators may check in.

Your call sign, please say letters phonetically,
Your name and town.
Please notify net control if you have traffic for the net.
Remember to enter ALL info on the LOG sheet, HIGHLIGHTING those with traffic.
